Team Gen-Y is a project-oriented, technology-based IT solution student team with the mission of integrating and advancing the best minds at SRMIST.

As a team with mentorship and tips from leaders in the industry, We strive to transform ideas and competitions into aced prospects. Our intention is further enhanced through the continual organisation of workshops, seminars, and hackathons.

Team Gen Y works to build an excellent community, motivate like-minded people and integrate them to work towards a better society. We strive to make people the best version of themselves with training and teaching inclined towards a more rational and practical approach to problems. Successful projects we have created and hackathons we have won attest to it.

Rather than naming Gen-Y a tech club, we love to describe it as a community of more than 100 tech-loving students

We develop applications and games employing cutting-edge tech stacks and creative solutions to difficult challenges to enable us to access the digital environment utilizing augmented and virtual reality,

Web Development

The Web Development team of Gen-Y constantly focuses on developing web interfaces and hosting them via the internet and intranet. We connect the end-user and interface by building robust and alluring UI/UX designs. Web design, web content development, client and server-side programming, and network security configuration are all part of the web development process. We use HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and Ajax as development mediums in this journey.

Corporate

We specialize in management, content-writing, and produce innovative strategies for PR, Marketing, and Sponsorship. Our lot is well-versed in communicating our ambitions and objectives, ensuring the team is pitched in the best way possible.

Creatives

The creative team of team Gen-Y is a crew of exceptionally talented designers who communicate ideas and information through visual concepts. They convey ideas to influence, illuminate and engross the audience through virtual art forms that include fascinating images, graphics and animations. The team is responsible for how the club is displayed in its entirety.

App Development

The Application Development team of Gen-Y is a group of illuminating minds who inspire, learn and improvise by developing and testing mobile-platform applications. They ensure the utmost performance, stability and responsiveness of the application. We utilize React Native as the framework and Firebase as the backend service.

DS and ML

AI/ML is a comprehensive tool that enables people to rethink integrating information and analyze data. Data science is the study of extracting valuable insights from data using subject expertise, computer abilities, and mathematical and statistical understanding. Our DS & ML team persistently works on models that use these principles for effective decision-making and transforming all spheres of life.

Team Gen-Y has played a very big role in my life and career. I got the chance to be the creatives domain head for the team for tenure of more than 2 years from 2018 to 2020, this phase was game changing for me, I learned so much from the seniors & peers, did lots of hardwork and got the opportunity to organize and speak at multiple events, did multiple projects and handled social media creatives. I formed the UI/UX Design domain in the team and advocated UI/UX Design throughout the university. The Most rewarding and worthwhile experiences I had was participating in hackathons with Gen-Y team members, this honestly transformed my life, gave me so much confidence and growth. I have won 9 Hackathons till date in collaboration with Gen-Y members. Team Gen-Y has given me friends for lifetime.
